What is Microneedling?

Micro-needling therapy, also knows as skin needling or collagen induction therapy (CIT), is a cost effective and non-invasive rejuvenation treatment that maximizes penetration of essential cell nutrients and maximizes release of growth factors such as collagen and elastin.

Using a hand held device, a fine needle enters the skin vertically, creating micro- channels within the skin. This creates a controlled wound stimulated by the action of the osculating needles. The wounds created by the treatment allow for optimal absorption of topical products used during the procedure, enhancing their effects in the deeper layers of the skin. This allows stimulation of collagen helping in reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and allowing overall rejuvenation of skin.

Micro-needling is just what you need to keep you looking fresh and young, and with little to no downtime, no one ever needs to know. Although, we never mind if you tell your friends.

Please Note: Micro-needling treatment may provide a temporary reddening for up to 24-48 hours post treatment, depending on the clients skin. It may also create a sensation similar to that of a mild sunburn. Some pinpoint bleeding that can occur with a deeper treatment. You may also experience mild inflammation for 2-4 days max, depending on the clients skin.

Optimal result is achieved with a series of treatments. An individualized at home regimen is ALWAYS prescribed by our specialists and recommended for your personal needs.

What is a Chemical Peel?

Chemical peels are used to treat wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, skin discoloration, age spots, dull skin texture, and mild scars by applying a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of skin and stimulate new skin growth. The new skin is usually smoother, less wrinkled, and more even in color. Additionally, many patients get a chemical peel for acne outbreaks or a deeper chemical peel for acne scars.

As we know, exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin, debris, and pore clogging material away from the surface of skin to reveal newer, brighter skin underneath. Physical exfoliation, on the other hand refers to any scrub that consist of a grainy or abrasive texture the you massage into your skin to manually buff off and remove dead skin cells.
